NY Notary Prep exists for one reason: to get you through the New York State notary public exam on your first attempt, without paying for a course you do not need.

How the material is built

Every rule, number and definition on this site is taken from the official Notary Public License Law booklet published by the New York Department of State, and from the New York Executive Law and Real Property Law sections it quotes. Each practice question points back to the rule it tests.

When the Department of State changes a fee, a procedure or the law itself, the pages and the study guide are updated, and the date at the top of each page changes with it.

What this site is not

This is an independent study resource. It is not affiliated with the New York Department of State, it does not register you for the exam, and it does not give legal advice. For your application and exam registration, always use the official dos.ny.gov pages.
